Course Content and Learning Objectives
The Pandemic of 2020 has taken many mental health providers into the world of virtual therapy. The practice of clinical supervision has seen the same shift. This course will provide clinical supervisors with strategies and techniques to ensure that they are ready to engage in virtual supervision in accordance with ethical and legal standards, and give suggestions and strategies for appropriate clinical oversight and monitoring of supervises and their growth and development.
Learning objectives for participants include:
- Understanding state laws and regulations regarding the practice of supervision within and across states.
- Determining readiness for the use of media and technology in counseling and supervision (supervisor, supervisee, and client).
- Utilizing media appropriately to provide clinical oversight of supervises.
CE Hours
Completion of the full course provides 4 NBCC approved CE hours.
Your Instructor
Dr. Lynell Howard has been providing psychological counseling, consulting, and training services for over 20 years. A native of New Orleans, LA, she holds licenses as a professional counselor in Texas, Georgia, and Louisiana and has been a practicing consultant and clinician in various settings. Dr. Howard began her career as a member of a private group practice where she engaged in clinical counseling and psychometric assessment. She later established an independent practice and has served numerous consulting clients in small and large organizations, including the US Armed Services, public school districts, state government, and the private sector. Dr. Howard is a Board Certified Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor and has provided training and consulting services across the US, Europe, and Asia.
